RBLI – grant awarded June 2019

RBLI veterans learning new skills alongside UK defence minister

The Veterans' Foundation is proud to announce that RBLI is the latest grant recipient.

Royal British Legion Industries (RBLI) is a charity which exists to help veterans find their feet whilst also helping adults with disabilities and people looking for work.

RBLI have been chosen to receive a grant from the Veterans’ Foundation, the work they do to help veterans prepare for life outside the army is invaluable and the gift will help change lives across the country.

“RBLI has given me a second life.” Anil, a veteran who was injured while on duty in Afghanistan was supported by RBLI to gain employment after completing his recovery. He now works as a sign maker, Anil like many other veterans supported by this charity has found employment thanks to the tireless work of its volunteers and programmes.

Realising that veterans often struggle to readjust to life after serving in the forces, RBLI help ex-forces personnel take their first steps to employment.

RBLI also manages Britain’s Bravest Manufacturing company, in their own words: “It is our mission to create employment opportunities for ex-forces personnel, allowing them to use the skills they learned in the Armed Forces while enabling them to maintain their independence in civilian life.”

Britain’s Bravest Manufacturing supplies a wide range of products to companies in many industries including BMW, Network Rail and Siemens. The veterans working here learn valuable skills that enable them to pursue work in the manufacturing industry.
