Apply NOW for a Veterans' Lottery grant

The latest round of funding for projects that support British veterans in need is set to be released and charities are being urged to apply for a grant.

Over £300,000 has been made available by the Veterans’ Foundation through the Veterans’ Lottery and it is open to any charitable organisation which supports our serving armed forces personnel, veterans and their immediate families.

For the first time ever, charitable organisations which provide assistance for the Merchant Navy are also being invited to apply for funding. Grants of up to £30,000 are available.

Since it was launched two years ago, the Veterans’ Lottery has provided 60 grants to a wide range of charities including homeless projects run by Launchpad and Houses 4 Homeless Veterans; mental health schemes co-ordinated by Combat Stress and Bravehound; as well as support for established organisations such as Scotty’s Little Soldiers, SSAFA, Little Troopers and British Forces Foundation. A full list of grants is available in the FAQ section on the website.

It is hoped by early New Year in excess of £1million will have been distributed to good causes thanks to players of the national Veterans’ Lottery.

Veterans’ Foundation CEO, Major General David Shaw CBE, said: “We are delighted to be able to distribute much needed funding to charities which support British armed forces and veterans. The growth of the Veterans’ Lottery means there is now a reliable source of funding for those vital projects that may struggle to survive without grants. Thank you to all those who play the lotto dedicated to our armed forces – you are changing the lives of some of our most vulnerable veterans.”

The Veterans' Lottery currently has a rollover jackpot of £25,000 and you can join here today.
