Kenneth Michael Rowe
DOB: 09/10/1983
Died: 24/07/2008
Age: 24

Lance Corporal Kenneth Michael Rowe, born on 9 October 1983, in the Newcastle area, was the beloved son of Kenneth and Lyn Rowe. He joined the Army on 7 March 2005, and quickly distinguished himself as an exceptional dog handler with the Royal Army Veterinary Corps (R.A.V.C.), specifically with the 104 Military Working Dog Support Unit.

After completing his initial training at ATR Winchester in June 2005 and advancing through his Phase 2 dog training in July 2005, Ken established himself as a highly skilled dog handler and trainer. He served in Northern Ireland before deploying to Afghanistan in March 2008, attached to 2nd Battalion, The Parachute Regiment.

Tragically, on 24 July 2008, near Sangin, Afghanistan, Ken and his Labrador sniffer-dog Sasha were both killed in action. Ken's bravery, professionalism, and deep connection with his canine partner were a testament to his character.
He will be deeply missed by his family, comrades, and all who knew him.
