FirstLight Trust

Why does the Veterans' Foundation support FirstLight Trust?

FirstLight Trust is a UK-wide charity with offices around the country including Scotland and Northern Ireland.

It offers support to all of those who have served in the emergency services and armed forces, together with their families. The aim is to give physical, emotional and psychological aid that really makes a difference.

The charity helps veterans get back on their feet by providing support that enables them to readjust to civilian life. With FirstLight, a veteran is never on their own.

The charity also helps with housing, benefits, allowances and pensions, as well as offering advice on getting the right medical treatment, sorting out debt problems, rehabilitation and support for drug and alcohol problems, volunteering work, writing CVs and assistance in getting back to work.

FirstLight Trust also has six cafe hubs around the country where veterans are able to access any help they require - and enjoy a cup of tea with a slice of cake.

How you can support the Veterans' Foundation

The Veterans’ Foundation has provided grants to hundreds of UK-based military charities and organisations since its inception in 2016. It is dedicated to distributing funding to where it is most effective and millions of pounds have been given to projects that have a positive impact on British veterans, and their dependents, in need.

If you’d like to become of a supporter of the Veterans’ Foundation you can do so by making a donation, by fundraising, by leaving something to Veterans' Foundation in your will or by joining the Veterans’ Lottery. Thank you.
