The Soldier’s Arts Academy

Why does the Veterans' Foundation support The Soldier's Art Academy?

The Soldier’s Arts Academy is a place for serving military personnel and veterans to use their creativity to take part in performing arts.

From art and photography to theatre performance and film, The Soldier’s Arts Academy is a platform that can provide vital support to men and women bearing the physical and mental scars of their service.

The academy gives the chance for ex-servicemen and women to explore their emotions with people who may have gone through very similar circumstances.

It is a Community Interest Company and the initial Veterans’ Foundation grant went towards taking the show ‘Soldier On’ on tour in the UK. As a result of its success, the cast - made up of a mix of veterans and professional actors - toured Canada.

Every month there is a wide range of workshops available covering art, poetry, photography, dance, theatre and film.

The ripple effect of bringing veterans in need together can have a significant impact in improving well being and employment opportunity.

How you can support the Veterans' Foundation

It is dedicated to distributing funding to where it is most effective and millions of pounds have been given to projects that have a positive impact on British veterans, and their dependents, in need.
