#DIOGivingBack

Earlier this year, The Veterans’ Foundation was delighted to be chosen as one of two charities supported by the Defence Infrastructure Organisation's (DIO) Giving Back initiative. #DIOGivingBack looks at exciting ways to raise funds for The Veterans’ Foundation, to support members of the Armed Forces Community.

The DIO is the estate expert for defence, supporting the armed forces to enable military capability by planning, building, maintaining, and servicing infrastructure. Much of the work it delivers directly supports the military community.

As part of #DIOGivingBack, funds raised so far have topped £50,000.

In June, DIO colleagues, family and friends held a sponsored walk around Carsington Water. Funds have also been raised through cake sales, walking challenges and sponsored sporting events, including the Manchester Half Marathon, raising a total of £1,505 for The Veterans' Foundation.

For the latest challenge, led by DIO’s Chief Executive Mike Green, a team of representatives from DIO and its suppliers, pedalled up to 100km per day across the battlefields of the D-Day landings in Normandy, raising an incredible £55,000.
