Charities providing vital support to British Armed Forces veterans in need have now received over £10 million in grants from the Veterans’ Foundation.
The incredible milestone was reached after the Foundation’s first quarterly grant awards of 2022 – dispersing £1.23 million to 62 British Armed Forces grantees, the Foundation’s second six-figure quarter in a row.
With 2022 also marking the 40th Anniversary of the Falklands conflict, this £10 million milestone is timely for the Veterans’ Foundation, who have now helped over 300 organisations supporting those who served their country.
David Shaw CBE, CEO and Founder of the Veterans’ Foundation, was thrilled to reach the significant landmark:
“Reaching £10 million in grant awards is simply amazing and reflects the incredible support we’ve received since we started in 2016.”
“We’re incredibly proud to have been able to support over 300 different good causes to date with vital funding.”
“However, our mission is ongoing,” added Shaw.
“We’re already looking forward to raising the next £10 million for causes assisting those who served our country and need our help.”
“Even in the current difficult financial environment, the need of our beneficiaries remains, and your support continues, so thank you.”
A multitude of different Armed Forces charities and organisations have received a part of the amazing £10 million, covering each and every possible difficulty experienced by our ex-servicemen and women; from mental and physical health support, to employment, education, housing and family help.
The list is long and diverse: Contact Group, Combat Stress, Walking With The Wounded, Rock2Recovery, Scotty’s Little Soldiers, Launchpad, Bravehound, Invictus Games, Heropreneurs and Military Wives Choirs are just a few of the incredible charities that the Veterans’ Foundation have provided vital funding to over the last six years.
But all of this is only possible because of the generosity of the British public – the majority of Veterans’ Foundation income comes through players of the Veterans’ Lottery, one of the UK’s fastest-growing charitable lotteries.
Thanks to this continued growth, the Veterans’ Lottery top prize is growing from May, up to a huge £50,000 if a player lands the first prize as well as the rollover jackpot.
For just £10 a month, you can play a vital part in supporting our Armed Forces veterans as well as being in with a chance of winning one of the biggest charity lottery jackpots in Britain.
