The Veterans’ Lottery has its first ever £50,000 rollover jackpot winner!
A huge congratulations to Jaimie from Norfolk, who has become the inaugural £50k winner in May’s draw.
On just the second draw since the £50,000 rollover jackpot was introduced, Jaimie couldn’t believe that she’d scooped the bonus pot.
“I’m never that lucky,” she said.
“I got the whole family to check online and when I got the call, I just got a bit emotional because I thought; ‘is this really true’?”
Jaimie joined back in October 2021, after a car accident turned her world upside down.
“I almost lost my life,” she explained.
“I ended up with pins and plates in my hips and it just gave me a new perspective on things.”
“I never expected to win anything, and I didn’t sign up for that, I just wanted to give something back to those who served in the Armed Forces – they have it hard.”
Although Jaimie is still struggling to believe what’s happened, she’s started to make some big plans for her windfall.
“You don’t realise how much money it is until you see it in your account, it’s phenomenal!”
“But I’m going to use the money on a deposit for a house and I also want to take the kids on holiday,” said Jaimie.
“Because my mobility is limited, I want to take the kids somewhere they can run around and do all that stuff, so we’ll find somewhere up north to go and explore.”
The £2,000 second prize went to Donna from Clacton-on-Sea, who only joined in March 2022, showing that you can win straight away on the Veterans’ Lottery, and a further 40 lucky players bagged a very welcome £120.
