Everton FC’s official charity thanks Veterans’ Foundation for grant

September 21 2021

Everton in the Community (EitC) – the official charity of Everton Football Club – has welcomed a grant from the Veterans’ Foundation.

Established in 1988, EitC has delivered life-enhancing participation and development opportunities for at-risk, isolated and vulnerable people across Liverpool City Region for over three decades.

Funding from the Veterans’ Foundation has helped to deliver EitC’s Aged Veterans Programme, which has positively impacted the lives of many socially isolated veterans by providing the practical and emotional support networks to ensure they remain socially connected.

“We are so thankful to the Veterans’ Foundation for their continued support to enable us to deliver our Aged Veterans Programme enriching programme.” Johnnie Garside, EitC Health and Wellbeing Manager.

One beneficiary of the programme, called Billy, described attending the programme as ‘the highlight of my week.’

He said: “The Aged Veterans Programme has enabled me to remain socially connected with like-

minded people at a time when I needed it most after recently becoming a widower. I look forward to attending sessions as the highlight of my week!”
