Veterans' Foundation Celebrates Clarets Collaboration

August 10 2022

The Veterans’ Foundation are delighted to announce that the charity has been selected by fans of Burnley FC to become the club’s official Charity Partner during the 2022/23 season.

As Charity Partners, Burnley FC and the Veterans’ Foundation will work closely together throughout the season, with the club supporting fundraising efforts through joint initiatives and a dedicated matchday at a Turf Moor home game (date TBC).

The Championship big-hitters asked supporters to vote for two charity partners the Clarets will support for the 2022/23 season and from four nominated charities, the two charities who received the most votes from supporters were Andy’s Man Club and the Veterans’ Foundation.

Fan Experience Manager, Harriet Harbidge said: “We received a fantastic response from supporters when asked to vote for the Club’s charity partners for the 2022/23 season. It was great to have their input as it’s important to us to involve fans in a variety of Club initiatives.

“Now that we have our chosen charities, we’re looking forward to working closely together and hopefully over the course of the season help them to raise both vital funds and awareness of the incredible work they are carrying out.”

The Veterans’ Foundation have already worked with Burnley FC in the Community in the past, awarding a grant that funded events to support the local veteran community, including breakfast clubs, social sessions, fitness groups and workshops.

But this official Charity Partnership will enable supporters to work with the club and the Foundation over the course of this season to fund more life-changing and life-saving projects.

Founder and CEO of the Veterans’ Foundation, David Shaw said: “We are both thrilled and honoured to have been chosen by Clarets fans to become their official Charity Partners for the 2022/23 season.”

“We are all excited to be working with closely with Burnley FC to make a real difference to veterans in the community, thank you all for your votes and your support.”

Alongside the Veterans’ Foundation, Burnley will also be partnering with Andy’s Man Club - a men’s suicide prevention charity, offering free-to-attend peer-to-peer support groups across the United Kingdom and online to end the stigma surrounding men’s mental health.
